This is the first beach that you can see from the Pan-American Highway when descending the slopes of Cerro Campana; precisely from this high mountain, you can see the wetlands of the Chame Bay and which border - on the opposite side, appears impressively Punta Chame.

Punta Chame is located at 1:15 (one hour fifteen minutes) from Panama City and is reached through the Pan-American Highway, before reaching the town of Bejuco, approximately by the Kilometer 75, you make a left turn entering on the road running along the northern flank of the Cerro Chame, then winds by the town of Lebanon and continues by entering the mangroves of the Chame Bay, turns after Cerro Tigre and continues until reaching the town of Punta Chame. The distance from the entrance to the point is approximately 25 kilometers, which means the total route from Panama City is about 60 miles.

Punta Chame is a peninsula shaped like a finger, whose base is tied to the mainland and heads outwards into the Pacific Ocean pointing to the island of Taboga. It has a topography surrounded by about 15 miles of white sandy beaches.

Punta Chame has beautiful and pristine beaches on both sides of the peninsula: some of them look inland to the Chame Bay, from them you can contemplate in their eternal rest and majesty Cerro Chame and Cerro Campana hills and as floating on the same area of the bay, you can see the beautiful island of Taborcillo (this island is also known as the John Wayne Island because at one time was owned and was the resting place of the legendary American actor and Oscar winner). The other beaches look to the open ocean, towards the Gulf of Panama; these are made of white sand. In front of them masterfully designed by nature, on the beautiful endless ocean stands two mountainous islands: Otoque and Bona. From the point of the peninsula you can see the City of Panama, characterized by its multiple towers that rise from the ground with differing heights, in an attempt to announce – from a distance - the presence of the capital city.

In this place sunny days are abundant, refreshing winds, typical of high seas and their spectacular nights, which appear after the fainting of the sun on the horizon, covering the sky with a deep blue blanket, and reveal all stars and give the other half of the days - in this place - his gentle and beautiful sparkle.

The original population of Punta Chame is made up mostly of fishermen. The community is made up of some 375 villagers; these show theirs affable nature and his quaint customs. Besides fishing, the community performs retail trade, giving residents and visitors basic supplies.

The area is ideal for practicing various activities and water sports such as: Surfing, windsurfing, kite boarding, sailing, wave runner rides, boat rides, fishing and diving sports among others. Other activities are accustomed: outdoor camping, barbecuing, long walks on the beach, flying kites, rides on four-wheelers.

One of the main advantages of Punta Chame is that is located in the main touristic area of Panama, within the so-called Arco Seco (climatologically area with the lowest incidence of rainfall in the Republic) and is located within 30 to 45 minutes of major infrastructure that offer goods and services such as supermarkets, pharmacies, medical and veterinary clinics, warehouses, craft centers, hardware stores, popular markets, restaurants, hotels, casinos and shops in general. Equal within the same perimeter there are two golf courses.
