San Isidro, Costa Rica

The place of San Isidro is located in the province of Heredia in Costa Rica. It is situated in the northern eastern part of the province and is approximately 26.96 square kilometers in terms of area. It holds a population of 17, 037 according to the census of 2003. it has a capital which also named San Isidro.
Some of the districts in the canton are San Jose, Concepcion, San Francisco, as well as the capital San Isidro. The place was founded in the year 1905, month of July.
San Isidro is one of the important canton of the province of Heredia, as well as the southern part of Costa Rica, although there are not that much tourist attractions in the place, it serves as a commercial center for the province. It is a place for herding cattle, growing coffee and other plants. With this, it was named after the saint of farming, San Isidro.
And annually, specifically every May 15, the place holds a festival offered to their patron saint. As said, there are less tourist attractions in this place as compared to other places in Costa Rica, however, it is still famous for its transportation hubs, as well as the activities it offers.
It’s market is also filed with fresh and locally grown fruits and vegetables that really delights the people of San Isidro and the visitors. Some of the must see events and places in San Isidro are the annual festival which is a festival of arts, Rio Chirripo where you can kayak and have river rafting, Fudeibol Reserve which encompasses archaeological exhibits, hiking activities, as well as horseback riding and Rancho La Botija where you can see different museums and wonderful parks. Even if San Isidro is not as big and does not have as much attraction as other places, it is still a worthwhile place to visit.
