About the F-27
The F-27 is a unique combination of a cruiser that is easy to sail and one that is capable of high performance. It is light for easy handling yet large enough for serious offshore racing.
It has wide spacious decks and near level sailing- perfect for safe family cruising and the shallow draft means you can pull up on the beach.
The fractional rig has all control lines lead aft for convenient operation from the cockpit for easy sail handling.
F-27s are very fast sailing boats. The deep, retractable daggerboard gives excellent windward capability, equal or superior to many 40-foot monohulls and off the wind, she'll pass almost all other yachts.
The floats fold inwards which enables the boat to be hauled out easily and more cheaply.
The F-27 is of PVC foam core construction, double bias glass fabric, Kevlar, S-glass, carbon fiber and multistrata vacupressure technique means the F-27 competes with the very best built yachts.
In 2004 the F-27 was inducted into the American Sailboat Hall of Fame, an acknowledgment of the exceptional qualities noted above.
Accommodation is in 2 cabins, the forward accommodating 2 settee berths, galley and WC.
The aft cabin comprises a double berth and extends under the cockpit sole.
I bought Extreme in Florida, in 2008. From there I sailed her to Cartagena, Colombia where I have used her to cruise between Isla Baru, Sapzurro and the San Blas islands. I have found her to be the perfect boat for these waters as she's fast and fun to sail as well as she's able to provide sufficient space to relax.
Extreme is registered in Colombia - the hard work has been done! Her papers are up to date; there's no tax to be paid, no agents fees or inspections, pending, she's ready to sail from the secure mooring she occupies in the Bahia, Manga, Cartagena. This mooring is offered with the boat.
I'm selling Extreme as I plan to return the UK permanently in May 2017. I will miss her...
