Automatic new generation approach

We have equipped the EOS R7 with the iTR AF and deep learning AI technology you can find in the EOS R3, EOS R5 and EOS R6 cameras. This means that it is able to recognize people, animals and even vehicles and keep them sharply focused no matter where they move within the frame.

An automatic approach that challenges all expectations

Nature photographers will love how the camera recognizes birds in full flight and keeps them totally sharp as they cross the landscape. Sports photographers will have an ally of incalculable value in the ability to follow the rapid and unpredictable movements of people, even if they wear helmets, look in another direction or head down.

Stabilization of image to another level

Imagine being able to perform prolonged exposures with the camera in the hand or intentionally blur the motives in motion without having to resort to a tripod. Or record incredibly fluid videos while you walk with the camera in your hand. The image stabilizer in the body (IBIS) of the EOS R7 puts at your reach a multitude of new ways to give free rein to creativity and could make you rethink how to use the camera system.

Great stability, even when you lose it

The IBIS of the camera collaborates with the optical IS that is integrated in many of our RF objectives. Thanks to the extraordinary communication speed of the RF mount and its physical amplitude, up to 7 steps3 are possible with the RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM and up to 8 steps13 with other RF objectives with 5-axis stabilization. That means you can make totally stable photos of long exhibitions, without tripod or trepidation.

Exceptionally stable videos

When recording video, IBIS and optical IS systems are joined by a third technology: digital video IS. Together, these systems compensate the motions of the camera to the point that it would not be flouted to think that a cardan has been used for the recording.

In an eye open and close...

The perfect moment to take a photo may not last longer than a fraction of a second. That's why we designed the EOS R7 to be exceptionally fast. Capture RAW, JPEG and HEIF files to some spectacular 15 fps6, or up to 30 fps4 with the silent electronic shutter of the camera7, and enjoy a continuous AE and AF that will react as you shoot. An electronic shutter with a maximum speed of 1/16 000 s reveals details that usually go unnoticed to the human eye.

Designed to react quickly

The camera's DIGIC X processor offers speed and speed of reaction and almost completely eliminates the delay on the viewer so you enjoy an almost instant capture experience. Up to 42 RAW files and 126 JPEG files can be captured in a single 30-fps burst.

Videos with fluid movements recorded perfectly

When recording video you can access image rates up to 60p in 4K, and up to 120p for Full HD9 recordings. Capture the moving motives with exceptional precision and create incredibly fluid slow motion effects in the postproduction phase.
