In recent days, the project to establish in the port of Golfito a
cargo ferry service to El Salvador, as part of an alternative plan to circumvent the
conflict at the borders over health measures for the Coronavirus.

geographical considerations as it is a pier with a deep draft, which avoids the
risk of a ship running aground. Also, it has no tide so it can operate around
the moment and does not require protective barriers. If this project materializes, it would give greater
commercial value to properties in the area.
