Costa Rica is the number one country in Latin America were American students study abroad, so this is a very interesting property to be acquired by an international university or to send their students to do a specialization or special degree overseas. The facilitieses can be used for research, for reforestation with native species, as well as other academic activities.
For instance, a Biology student from the University of Costa Rica did his research thesis on Frogs inside the property, which was later documented by a video.

The center suite in this building is a room for families , that includes a mezzanine and a bedroom, where visiting professors stayed with their families. This building also has the laundry room.
Solar panels, both for heating water as well as for generating electricity.
There are two sets of solar panels to heat water for the kitchen area and the showers in the dorms area.
There is a back-up system both for gas and electricity for use during dark and rainy days. The power generating system includes several batteries for storing the generated electricity in case the power goes off. The excess electricity generated goes back to the grid if it is not being used and there is a double-way meter that measures the amount of excess electricity that is pumped back to the power lines.
